I'm not always good at this

I'm somewhat terrible about writing these, especially as nobody knows this exists. So when it leaves my brainspace, nobody else can remind me. I haven't read comics for a while. Not because I suddenly hate comics, but because I've been doing other things. Reading in general has been a thing. I have been awful about putting them on Goodreads because there just doesn't feel like much incentive. Some things, especially read through Kindle, have been there though, but a lot haven't.

Here's what I've read on Kindle at least in the last couple of months. I'm not going to give detailed descriptions, just a rough Recommend/Not Recommend. Some I might come back and talk about at another time.

  • Redlaw by James Lovegrove (moderate recommend)
  • The Light Brigade by Kameron Hurley (moderate recommend)
  • Hail Mary by Andy Weir (high recommend)
  • Arcane Ascension series by Andrew Rowe (recommend)
  • Recruit by Jonathan Brazee (not recommended unless you like military sci-fi)
  • Titanshade by Dan Stout (currently reading, currently a high recommend)
  • Demon Slayer - Okay it's a manga and not a book, but fuck it. It's great.
Video gaming is a thing too. Lots of Binding of Isaac since Repentance came out. A lot of mixed feelings on a lot of things on that. Generally really fun. But... some design decisions are just fucking trolling and bad and piss me off. Mods do help though, so I'm slowly working on clearing all those unlocks and achievements.

Anyway. Also playing lots of DCS World, which anybody seeing my social media has noticed. I was given the F-14 Tomcat module and I bought the Syria map and so I've gotten back into flying. Still fly the A-10C Warthog because I love it, but have been going hard into getting better at the Tomcat because it's fucking *hard*. As of this writing, I got my first carrier landing a few hours ago and it was awesome as hell and exhausting. I present video of it from the POV of my friend Mike who is acting as my RIO (and who also gave me the module). First Carrier Landing (link opens in new window).

Breath of the Wild is now in my possession. More than a year after I got my Switch (which is covered in BotW skins) I can finally play the game itself on the system. I did play and beat it on WiiU but that was on a tiny ass TV and not the best experience. I'm not off the first area (yet) but it's already a lot of fun.

When I finish my current book, going to replace it with some shorter video games in the "schedule" so to speak. First up: A Short Hike. I understand it's good and super chill and I could use that.
