Atomic lizard thoughts

 Godzilla vs Kong drops today. Don't have HBO Max so I can't watch it (yet). But Godzilla: King of the Monsters was on sale on Google Play and I had credits there so I picked it up. 

First an aside. Atomic lizard > giant monkey. Forever. 

But the key bit from Godzilla: King of Monsters is that the writers have *no* idea what people really watch a Godzilla movie for. Because people do not give two shits about family drama or stupid human plans when they could instead be seeing monsters beating the shit out of each other or blowing stuff up. Humans are best when they aren't the focus and are reacting and responding to things the monsters are doing. We don't need a character drama in the middle of a monster movie. 

Thankfully, despite the dumbass human side of Godzilla: King of Monsters, the actual monsters are awesome. The battles are awesome. Well animated, fun to watch, lots of cool stuff happen. I love it. And King of Monsters was a lot better than the 2014 Godzilla format in that it had a lot more monsters, so they are getting better. 

I've read on Godzilla vs Kong. The plot seems... coherent. I don't know how much actual monster battling and monster destructing there are. But so far the reviews seem positive.
