Shiny and new things

I have a new PC now. Ordered towards the end of January, finally game this past Friday. Was a bit of a process to get ready to go, actually. I had a giant rat's nest of cables and cords that needed to be sorted out, for one thing. It was honestly rather embarrassing if anybody actually saw it. More importantly, and more difficult, was the need to transfer two SSDs from the old case to the new one. Most people might not find it difficult but my confidence in my hardware abilities are very low. However, with a bit of help from a friend I got them both installed despite some kind of... janky placement. This case/motherboard don't seem like it's really intended to have 3 SSDs (which is how many I now have in total) so I had to make do. But hey, it works. Everything booted up correctly, everything works, most of the software I need is installed and configured, and so on. It is *extremely* shiny. There are RGBs on the water cooling system, the RAM, and 3 big fans up front. I've got it set to a cool blue color and a slow breathing pulse which makes it pretty calming.

Comic reading slowed down because the last week was pretty difficult. I did finish reading Nailbiter. The ending was not as good as I'd hoped, but honestly I'm not sure it could have lived up to the story that got it there. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. For lack of a better way to put it, it felt a little Scooby-Doo in how we get the culprit reveal and a resolution.  I still recommend the series, if only because the journey is really solid.

I am slowly watching the recent Netflix version of Haunting of Hill House with a friend of mine (hi Candice). Through... I believe 4 episodes, I'm generally enjoying it and curious as to the resolution. We are both united in our dislike of Shirley and amazed at how *spectacularly* fucked up all these people are. It's been very nice to watch something with another person, even if we're doing the watching async and then discussing a bit later. I find it much more fun when there's someone to talk about things with.

Video games. Not much on that front. Played a lot of Octopath Traveler on the Switch since I was at my mom's place a lot this past week. Really fun game if a bit straight forward. Can now play PC games again since I'm no longer on a system with terribad air/heating problems. I've played a little Ace Combat 7 and oh man. It's so fun. I've played it and beaten it before but it's still so awesome. And looks even better now. I want to get some Valheim played too. Also have some Vermintide 2 penciled in to play with people.
